Del Mar College Nurse Education students will host a fun, interactive Health Fair to showcase skills and concepts they studied this semester. Nursing students will be interacting with the community and other students to provide the best and latest health information with a focus on culture and diversity covering topics that include Sleep Disorders and Interventions; What is your BMI?; How You Can Avoid Heat Exhaustion and Heat Stroke; Your Signs and Symptoms of Osteoarthritis (Chronic Pain); What It Means if You Have Degenerative Disc Disease (Neuropathic Pain); Warm Weather Infections and How You Can Avoid Them: Impetigo Tinea Pedis; What Do You Do for Fevers in Infants and Children?; What Are the Care Needs of Your Child who has Down’s Syndrome?; and How You Can Avoid Eye Injuries. The Virtual Dementia Tour is a simulated experience of dementia to raise awareness for those who care for a person with dementia. If you have a family member with dementia, you can gain a greater understanding about their reality by taking a sensory tour. By taking the tour, family members, organizations and companies will gain a better insight to understanding the physical and mental challenges of those suffering from dementia.
Tuesday, Nov. 27, 1 to 5 p.m., Harvin Student Center, DMC East Campus, Ayers at Kosar, free.
