Updated and adapted by Ken Ludwig, 20th Century is a hilarious adaptation of the classic comedy by Ben Hecht and Charles McArthur. Aboard the 20th Century Limited speeding train traveling from Chicago to New York City, Oscar Jaffe, a Broadway director who is desperate and bankrupt, attempts to persuade former lover Lily Garland, now a temperamental Hollywood actress, to appear in his next show that will surely save his career. Oscar attempts to accomplish this feat while outwitting rival producers, creditors and a religious fanatic. The problem is he only has 16 hours to succeed before the 20th Century Limited reaches New York City! Otherwise, it’s the end of the line for Oscar if he fails. Nov. 9 opening night is DMC Faculty and Staff Appreciation Night with free admission with a valid ID for faculty and staff. The Nov. 15 performance is Student Appreciation Night with free admission for all area students with a valid ID. Both appreciation nights include a post-show reception with a cash bar available only during opening night.
